The Golgi Apparatus
The Golgi apparatus is the central accepting and forwarding center where proteins from the ER arrive, are organized, parceled into vesicles and are sent out to other organelles. It has a flat sacs with internal space, allowing it to have two discernable sides: a cis side for accepting proteins and a trans side for sending out proteins. The Golgi will modify the proteins by adding carbohydrates or lipids inside the cisternal space.
