The Overview of Cells
The cell is the basic unit of life. Whether prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells, all organisms are comprised of them. Within cells are various organelles, that have their own specific job to carryout. In multicellular organisms, some cells may have more organelles while others are missing some completely. The structure and components of a cell can vary greatly, depending upon the type of cell and it's purpose.
Even though cells differ, the main components are:
- The Nucleus
- Ribosomes
- Endomembrane System
- Energy Organelles
- Cytoskeletion
- Cell Walls and Membranes
